Thinking of you on Monday

Hello blogging pals , welcome to my room , on this pleasant Monday morning . Hope that you are enjoying doing what ever it is that you are doing . I think the weather is a little better here as we actually saw some sun over the weekend . Doug and I managed a short stroll around our  nearby park . I must remember to take my camera next time as mum duck was there with 8 young ducklings . Plenty of water in the creek as well .
Adjusting my DT bonnet now for the Make it Monday posting .
Once more there were over 170  amazing  entries for last week . So many styles , so many different layouts , colour combinations , non card projects , lots of embellishing to very little but all so inspiring !

Children's card

Hello , welcome to my room .
Wow,  did I  have a great day . Hope you all had one too .
Had  Sandy and  Jane over for some card making , chit chat and cuppa .  Had interesting discussion about washing machines and lint. Isn't that a pain ..lint on clothes?
After that Sandy offered to take me to a craft shop .Well,  seeing as how I have not been " out" to browse a craft shop since Doug's stroke in October , I jumped at the offer .
With lots of oohing and "oh look at this and that " I bought one or two bags of goodies such as some stamps and lots of paper .Have not unpacked yet ..might show you all later .
Any way , now to share some cards I have made in the last day or two . Pretty simple ones that dont require a lot of explaining and all created with bits  from my stash .

So thank you for calling in . Dont forget tomorrow is Monday and there will be a post with my pick of the week from entries on Make it Monday list ..

Catch you again soon , cheers for now , Shirley-Anne.

Second circles card

Hi there . I'm here  with quick post . To basically admit to a senior moment . Hi there everyone , welcome to my room . This is a second post for today so please scroll down wont you ?
On Tuesday's post  I entered Less is More challenge
http://shirley-anne-stampingforjoy.blogspot.com/2011/07/simply-more-than-one-circle.html
I was so keen to use up scrap bits to create a quick and easy card that I forgot to leave lots of " white " space on card front . So today I will make amends by entering another,  similar,  card using some  more scrappy bits .

Still with Crumb Cake, SU,  card base but a new sentiment from I forget where .
Sorry Chrissie and Mandi . Hope this one is closer to the mark .
We have a theme at " Less is More"  which this week is

CIRCLES

Please note that this is in the plural... we need to see more than one circle, so not just a circular card base or the odd circle thrown in just to qualify... we need you to think circles and see what you can come up with. Whilst you're thinking of your design however, we don't want you to forget the white space element and the CAS feel for your card.

Catch you again later , cheers for now , Shirley-Anne.

Proud to announce ...

Hi there .Thanks for calling in . Welcome to my room .
I am so glad you're here because I am so proud to share this news with you . I have been bursting at the seams for ages, and now , well I can spill the beans .  You all know
that Michelle from http://michelle-pinkpaperparadise.blogspot.com/ is my Daughter .RIGHT?
And you all know that she has the blog  http://ppp-makeitmonday.blogspot.com/ which is proving to be so popular with so many wonderful entries each week .
Now this talented woman in her own right has opened a new  Digi Store where you will find some exciting examples of her drawing skills.
                                                  http://ppp-designs.blogspot.com/

Today I am featuring one of her images " Ballet Lesson"
I have created two cards to show that with digi images you can resize to suit your project..
The first card is usual C6 size

She is such a cutie , easy to colour and easier to cut out . I mounted her onto embossed and diecut frame . Then layered that onto red paper , hand torn on one side  and adhered onto  green dot paper on card front. I embellished with flowers and bling from my stash .
And this next card shows same  image made smaller

The other images and sentiment are computer generated.
Now you can find more details about the digi store and other examples of images  on Michelle's blog  .
Congrats Michelle , good luck with your new venture .
Hope that you will pop into the store and check it out .
Catch you again soon , cheers for now , Shirley-Anne.

Simply more than one circle

Hi there . welcome to my room . Just a quick project today . If you are in need of a budget card then hopefully my card shared here will inspire you . See how you can use up lots of your scrappy bits of patterned paper . In this instance I kept to a flower theme with my scraps .
Oh and a little tip ,you may or may not think of .
Some of my scrappy bits are  like really , really small .And you know how hard it can be to punch small bits!
Well all you do is adhere a tag to the scrappy bit .

This tag acts as a handle and with it I could position the punch exactly over the image I needed without my fingers getting in the way of the veiw .
So onto my card which happens to be for a bloke who likes gardening from seed to flower /vegs .
I'm hoping it is right for
Week 24 - Theme    at " Less is More"

"CIRCLES
Please note that this is in the plural... we need to see more than one circle, so not just a circular card base or the odd circle thrown in just to qualify... we need you to think circles and see what you can come up with. Whilst you're thinking of your design however, we don't want you to forget the white space element and the CAS feel for your card."
And my card is ..

With Crumb Cake card base from SU and the 3D foam tape adhered sentiment from Dreams du Jour also from SU, I just added a collection of punched circles of floral scrap  paper.
Thank you for visiting and I hope you call in again soon .

UnstampaBelles Challenge

Hi there .Welcome to my room and thanks for calling in .
Special welcome to new followers, Nikki,  you should see her beautiful  Shaker Christmas card ,
and one new entrant in my Christmas card challenge , Kate.[mamapez5]
I have visited Kate 's blog and am inspired by her hand made flowers , her vintage and her poppy paint fusion card. Now  I hope that has  aroused your curiosity enough for you to call in to see these and her two Christmas cards entered into the challenge .
My card to share is one for a challenge  which  I found through a blog pal Annmaree.
Celebrating Christmas.

Info from      http://unstampabelleschallenges.blogspot.com/
Now it's time for our first challenge and what better way to start off with than a CELEBRATION.
This month we would love to see all your CELEBRATION papercraft creations.
You will find our RULES in the right sidebar.
We have two important rules to remember No Stamps (with the exception of a sentiment) and Have Fun.
Challenge #1 closes 31st July and winner announced with the next challenge Monday, 1st August.

Now as I have a few craft friends who do not have a lot of stamps I have been exploring ways to encourage/ inspire  them  to seek alternative images to use. I have used a chipboard image here . Quite effective , do you agree?
So I hope this qualifies for the challenge .
Catch you again soon , cheers for now Shirley-Anne

Make it Monday sharing

Good morning / afternoon/ evening  bloggers . ..Well ,  we are world wide aren't we? It's Monday , or in some places nearly Monday , and time for my DT duties .
Welcome to my room where it is only a little warmer than outside . I think it is about 11 degrees as I post this .Takes a while before the aircon fills my room with warmth .
Firstly I present to you Heather , entry number 141 . Heather is my pic for the week .
This little gem shown below ,  that Heather shared with us on Make it Monday , just warmed the cockles of my heart and reminded me of Doug who is spending a lot of time in his armchair now.

I love the papers and the layout and the inside is beautifully presented as well .
http://kurly-q.blogspot.com/   this is Heather's place , where you will find it and some more equally stunning creations as well .
Plenty of stunning entries this week again and it was a pleasure visiting many of them .
Congratulations to  last weeks winners.
Hope that you all enjoy entering again this week . Our Sponsor is

Ladybug Crafts Ink - http://www.ladybugcraftsink.co.uk/

And the prize
Stamp of the winners choice to the value of £6.50

The card I created for this week shows off one of our sponsor's images from the shoes and bags sets .

The image and the sentiment are from the same set . This is one of many reasons I love these sets because the sentiments match the images so well but still lend themselves to other applications . All items to make this are from my stash and I  coloured with copics .

Now don't forget this week you can be one of the winners too, even if you don't have an entry to share , just by commenting .When commenting on another’s MIM entry don’t forget to mention that you saw it on MIM and the more entries you comment on in this way, the more chances you have of winning.

And so I leave you now with this thought ..
When you can think of yesterday
                                                         without regret and tomorrow without
fear , you are near contentment.

Catch you again soon , cheers for now , Shirley-Anne.

Now it's Monday

Hello to one and all . Thank you for calling in to see me . Welcome to my room .
Here it is the 4th of July and Monday . If you are celebrating the day ..ENJOY!
Time for me to don my DT hat for Make it Monday .
Entries in the region of 170 odd in number, last week  . WOW ! Consistantly a high number of entries , in my opinion,  rates this blog  high on my list for sharing . Thank you to all who paticipate .
Congrats to another two winners for last week .
I am going straight to my pic of the week
Number 165.... SHIRLEY

http://cottonberrycreations.blogspot.com/ Now Shirley has other creations with these little friends and I particularly loved an earlier post of hers , " Friends April Showers " as well . You would not be bored if you paid her blog a visit , I promise .
Our sponsor this week is ..
                                                                       Prize
4 digi images of winners choice
I have enjoyed this new experience of using digi images
since joining MIM as a DT member and here is my creation for this week .

I have used Glossy White as card base . I adhered some DSP to a piece of Old Olive card and together they were embossed with a floral embossing folder . Before placing this onto card I wrapped some jute ribbon around side and attached a metal brad. A diecut frame was used to frame this beautiful olde world wheel barrow and the sentiment added below .   So there you go it is time for you to think about your entry .I am really looking forward to blog hopping through the entries again this week .

When commenting on another’s MIM  entry don’t forget to mention that you saw it on MIM and the more entries you comment on in this way,   the more chances you have of winning.

Catch you again soon , cheers for now , Shirley-Anne.

Hi , for less is more challenge

Hi to all of my visitors . Welcome to my room . Hope that you are having a grand day/evening .
It is cool but with a little sunshine here in Adelaide . Was out early this morning, 8.30 am, for coffee and toasted ham and cheese sandwich at a nearby bakery . We generally meet up with a couple of friends here on a Sunday , where  we discuss the past weeks  world events and share our opinions on just about everything .
No  usual craft friends over today  as they all have other things happening today so might try to tidy some shelves and drawers in my room this afternoon .
But after this post if you dont mind.
My two Carols came yesterday for a workshop .Carol P. finds it hard at this stage to do any thing crafty at home but Carol J shared this card with us .
A side fold card with  embossed  1/2 front folded back .The top has a scalloped oval with patterned paper behind to match the same on the inside back . Carol J . cut out a bug image from paper to place in scallop oval . then placed her sentiment under that . Great take on one we made in earlier class , well done Carol J.
And now for my card which I would like to enter into Less is More challenge .
http://simplylessismoore.blogspot.com/2011/07/week-22-colour.html
