Another Watercolour Piece. " Sharing Dawn"

Hello everyone , hope that you are all well and life is good for you. Thank you for popping in to see me .Please take a moment to say hello so I know where to visit you too.
I enjoyed playing with watercolour pencils recently and carried on experimenting again with some silhouette stamp images .
Silhouette Sentiments , Elements of Style, Just Believe, were the sets used to make this dawn scene. I had intended to only use one bird image but noticed that there was a small smudge under the first stamping so decided to place another twig and bird near so that the moment was being shared . And that decided the sentiment for the card . Did it work , do you think ?
Once the water paper had dried and I had created the scene I adhered it to black card stock which I trimmed to leave a small border on three sides and a wider one at bottom to allow for tag with sentiment . I placed a narrow  black ribbon over join .
I would like to enter this in My Inner Reflection Case Study Challenge .
See all the details here..
I was inspired by the sentiment on Sue's card . Now while the muse had a bunch of bright flowers and Sue, a single sunny  Dafodil I wanted to use Flora in a different light . I hope it meets the theme criteria .
In any event I'd love to share it .
Catch you again soon , cheers Shirley-anne.

Get Sketchy Card Challenge

This is getting to be a habit ! I think blogging and entering challenges is addictive ..Hi every one , this is my second post  for today but it will be a quick entry cause I am not sure when the cutoff date is for this challenge .
To see some fine examples and the sketch to use for the challenge click here.
In the meantime here's my entry .
Apart from the Prima Flowers and the rhinestones from my stash , all ingredients are from SU
Hope that I have made it in time .
Cheers for now Shirley-Anne

A Water Colour background

Hi there everyone . Thanks for popping in . Hope that you are happily crafting .
This is the first time that I have used my watercolour pencils for a background. And I would like to enter it into a challenge of that theme by http://www.stampinmoments.com/
Sorry about picture . I did not think about that when I created light background .
I used SU Watercolour Pencils,  an Aqua pen and SU Water Colour paper. The grass images and sentiment inked in Soft Suede,  is from set, Just Believe , while the butterfly is from set  , Every Moment. I adhered this to Kraft card , leaving small border then onto Chocolate Chip card base.
Am entering this creation into challenge , details of which are here .
There are some great previews shared here and tutorials .
Hope you like my card.
Catch you again soon, cheers for now Shirley-Anne.

Christmas Popups

Hello , welcome to my room . Hope that you are all well and finding time for a little crafting /browsing.
Last night I made two popup cards in Christmas theme . These will make my tally 42. Robyn set a challenge to create 50 Christmas cards by 1st December and she has made  21 and shares them on her blog .

Both card bases are from  SU Glossy White . This first one has sentiment  and holly from set , Christmas Classics on the front. Real Red ink and  markers were used to colour.

And the insert popup has the tree from same set. The tub is from A 'Judith' stamp inked with Chocolate Chip.

For the background on   inserts of both cards I stamped the star from this set , cut it out ,placed it on white insert and sponged over it randomly with Baja Breeze ink , sponging  edges of insert with this ink as well.
My second card to share is..still using this set . But I only inked the baubles from the sentiment to stamp twice on front. I then sponged around them with Summer Sun ink. The sentiment here was punched out with SU Modern Label  x-large punch then edges sponged with Baja Breeze

This time, for the insert,  I used baubles from set  Contempo Christmas, inked in Real Red.
These were then punched out with SU Ornament Extra Large punch.

Loved the way these turned out . Hope that you like them too.
This second card I am entering into a sketch challenge by ...  Just Add Ink .  Amazing creations  here and well worth a visit.
Catch you again soon and cheers for now  Shirley-Anne.

A great day wish.

Hi there and welcome to my room . Hope that you are all well.
I don't know where Spring has gone but it is back to being cold here in Adelaide today . Thank you to all who sent wishes for Happy Anniversary to myself and MWH. Just made me feel as though I belonged to a large happy family ..
Today , being Monday , it is time to place a card to share on, click  Michelle's Make it Monday
Here is mine for this week .
This card is made with some retired DSP from SU. So glad I bought a few pks before too late
The greeting from Every Day Messages from Stampendous was inked in Soft Suede, on blue scrap from stash . I am sorry I can't name flower images as they were given to me  by  Sandy . I adhered them all to blue card  leaving small border,  placed two on card front with third image mounted on foam tape and 3D in middle of  and overlapping 1st two .
And because the inside is patterned I used a topnote diecut by Big Shot for any sentiment I will add later .
Hope that you like it . Now if you have a little creation , be it scrapbooking , altered thingys , Tags,  ATCs or any thing at all that you have the right to share then come on please do . You can check out the rest of
Michelle's  Blog while you are there
Catch you again soon , cheers Shirley-Anne

Warmest Wishes

Hello , glad that you could call in . Welcome to my room .
Our Wedding Anniversary today . Have enjoyed a beautiful Breakfast at one of our favourite restaurants this morning and a quiet drive around our city beach side roads . A fine morning so there were  many  walking on beaches with dogs and or children running around .
Just a quick post to share card which  I made last night . It is actually going to be a sympathy card for a male   friend here in our village .
Doug, MWH, picked it before looking through  others in  my stash of Sympathy cards , saying " that's nice" . Now I am not sure whether he liked it or just did not want to look at others . Sigh....
I used a new colour from SU , River Rock, for card base . Using another piece just  smaller than card front , I stamped corner floral spray , " Hippy Girl Collection"  from Kaisercraft. Ink used was Soft Suede. The sentiment is from Stamp-It.
I sponged around the edges  before adhering to card front with foam tape .
Hope that you like it . Catch you again soon , cheers Shirley-Anne.

http://sarahhurleychallenges.blogspot.com/2010/09/challenge-9-polka-dots-and-circles.html is the place to find the details .

Again I have used Chocolate Chip as card base with SU dsp as mat . I placed  a dotty brown rectangle onto floral paper and fussy cut 2  flowers  and stem just enough to slip rectangle under .
I wrapped ribbon  behind floral dsp and over rectangle  before adding  lighter coloured dot tag with music circle with foam SU dimensials. Then I added the bow.
Apart from the Challenges , there are some motivational creations shared and it is definately worth a visit .

Dedicated to friends

Hi there you all . Hope every thing is Honkey Dorey in your world . A sure sign of better weather here as Doug  gophered and I walked for our coffee this morning . It is still overcast but no sign of rain so we took a chance . And as I love walking , it was so good to get out in the fresh air .
This morning I really want to thank Ally for the beautiful book mark she sent to me as a swap
I do love lavender and all shades of purple so this suits me to a tee. I really love the punched edging here as well.
Next a huge thank you to Annmaree at  http://emuupagumtree.blogspot.com/
for the little cute images she sent recently . I have shared  them here  on two Christmas cards .  Will add them to my Christmas card  challenge number . This began with Robyn at   http://rainbowsbyrobyn.blogspot.com/  setting the challenge to make 50 Christmas cards by 1st December.
You find my creations under the label here , Christmas wishes .

Friend to Friend with music and flower.

Hello there . Hope that you are all well and found some time to enjoy some crafting today . Be it stamping or sticking or blog browsing or reading craft magazines  or even buying some much needed supplies. I love shopping . But I love creating cards more!
Now I am sorry that this is another card with the music sheet from new DSP Newsprint. But it is only a little on show .

All ingredients are from SU except for the Rhinestones and ribbon  from my stash . The sentiment is from set Pocket Silhouettes.
I actually diecut three topnotes , trimmed and  layered music sheet and  green gingham onto main topnote . I had punched three circles in gingham  piece to expose some of the music. Added an Old Olive panel with brown gingham ribbon attatched .
Not sure about this one yet . Will leave it on shelf to consider it for a day or two . Did not quite turn out as I had pictured it .
Any way , what do you think?
Catch you again soon , cheers shirley-Anne.

Just a challenge

Hi again . Wow this does not happen often . This is my second posting for the night. So please,  don't stop here . When you have checked this card out please scroll down and see my earler posting . It's a vintage style and I think,  worth a look.

I created this card for a challenge on http://just-add-ink.blogspot.com/search/label/Challenges
It is for a Sympathy card . Now I just have to see what other things I have to comply with to be eligible .
Hope you like it too.
Don't forget this is my second posting today  so if you have an extra minute check out the earlier post.
Catch you again soon , cheers Shirley-anne.

Musical note.

Hello , welcome to my room . Sunshine today in Adelaide. Had a few girls together for craft today but now we have school break of two weeks .  So hopefully I can find some spare time to create some vintage cards as something different and may be even find a challenge that I can take part in .

First card to share in that style is this one . Hope you like it .

Using dsp music sheet  from new pack , Newsprint. I used Certainly Celery as card base . I had a piece of dsp as negative from diecut scallop oval so place that over piece of music paper and laid that onto more dsp . Added a butterfly , flowers and Basics Pearls  from stash . The flower centres are Ice Circle Rhinestones from SU.
The sentiment is from Everyday Messages Stamp Set  from Stampendous.
Loved this so am hoping my vintage mojo stays with me .
Catch you again soon , cheers for now  Shirley-anne.

Musical Birthday Wish

Hello there, welcome to my room . Thank you for calling in and I hope that you enjoy the visit.
Fran, one of my card  making friends,   asked for a sample of using new dsp from , Newsprint.
Here is one ,  a 10 minute card I have just completed .

All ingredients are from SU with Chocolate Chip being card base.
Now I have no idea what the music is but the title seems, to me . to indicate that it is bold and loud , which would be ok for male card.
Now if someone could tell me what the music is,  i'll know what scrapbook page it would suit. So if some kind visitor would let me know , that would be great!
Short posting today . Catch you again soon , cheers Shirley-Anne.

Eat cake

Hello everyone. Welcome to my  room . The days are getting longer but the sun is not yet stronger, so still low temperatures here . Where ever you are,  here's hoping that you are high and dry and as comfy as you can be.
I had a wonderful Sunday afternoon with a couple of craft friends making cards . I had the wireless going in the background and we were singing along and there was even a jig or two ....well a hip  swivel of sorts ..when we stood to stamp. But generally lots of laughter . Thanks for the company ladies.
Any way to my card for the day . One  using another of the inchies from set , Cute by the Inch.

The card base is from White Gloss . I punched 9x  1 1/4" squares  from dsp and laid them in centre  with small gap between each. on the bottom one I 3D  added the stamped  cup cake image. I had cut this out
leaving a small  wavy white border .

I then doodled a freehand rough border around the lot,  leaving space at the top  for the sentiment from Teeny Tiny Sentiments inked  in Chocolate Chip
Hope you like this card . I love the inchies set  and just know I'll be using it again .
Catch you again soon , cheers for now Shirley-anne.

Pretty Silhouette

Hello and welcome to my room . Hope your day has been a pleasant one .
I had a great afternoon with a  gathering of papercrafters at my friend , Kay's home . Thank you for sharing , Kay.
Today my card , another Christmas card , is made with one of my favourite type of images .
The set used is , Welcome Christmas,  and the image is a silhouette type.
Isnt that family scene just the message you want to convey with the sentiment being the perfect accompaniment?
Whisper White , Old Olive and Real Red  cardstock and Real Red , Old Olive  inks along with the white pen came together for this simple  card. Once again I used the example shown in our new catty to preview this set .
I stamped the sentiment twice , once in red and once in green then I cut the Season's Greetings centre from the green image and 3D it over the red one, while the lot is 3D over Real Red strip.
And the red strip behind the sentiment is  card stock with white lines along edges.
Hop that you like the card , my number 38th  Christmas card.
Catch you again soon , cheers Shirley-anne

How is everyone today ? Well , I hope. Thanks for  including  me in your blog browsing time .
An easy  little card is next with products from my stash .
The image is from set Cute by the Inch.  And while I had this image inked , I tried it with some of my other punches to see how it fitted in them.

I think these small images have enormous potential and I look forward to using them in a variety of ways .
So off to try . Catch you again soon. Cheers for now , Shirley-Anne

Happy Birthday

Hello there and welcome to my room . A beautiful day in Adelaide today . Maybe Spring has arrived!
Hope life is all good for you and yours where ever you are.
Thank you for taking the time to pop in .
I was on my last kit this morning , on the last sheet of DSP . And I broke my own rule ...that is to check measurement before actually making the cut . I needed 8 pieces 9x 10.5 cm but I cut the last two 9 x 10 cm ...uuuugghh ! They wont go to waste but it meant that I had find another different  2 sheets of same patterned paper ...easy enough , I have lots .Then I had to find different coloured ribbon because fist lot did not match really . So enough venting...here is the final resulting card .

Sentiment is from  new set , Engraved Greetings, inked in Chocolate Chip .
It is similar to previous card on last post using same flower so, one will be for Sunday and the other for Tuesday workshop.
Quick, clean and  simple. Again.
Will add this to Michelle's  ' Make it  Monday ' share spot.
Catch you again soon , cheers for now  Shirley-anne.

A Special Something

Hello and welcome to my room . It has been a glorious day in Adelaide but another cold night on the way .
I hope that you enjoyed your day and are looking foward to the week ahead.
Went to a  friend's 70th Birthday lunch today and although Doug had not seen a few of the guests since school days they all seemed to have vivid memories to relate about his teenage years.
Not having known my Husband  till  very much later , I had an entertaining afternoon , I might tell you .
I do have a card to share , hoping you like it .

A very plain card that turned out better than I had hoped . I had wanted to create something with no layers. Hope this qualifies .
Whisper White and Bashful Blue card stock . Markers to colour.
Stamp sets , Garden Whimsy , The Nicest Things and Live, Laugh,Love.
The flower was cut out and adhered to circle from diecut  Originals Circles#2   to make embellishment .

Something I love doing is mixing and matching different images from different stamp sets  to create . This makes a few sets  in number go so much further .
Thank you for calling in . Catch you again soon .
Cheers Shirley-Anne.

Clean and simple  , just as I like them .

Blue Bird in the pink

Hello and welcome to my room . Thank you for calling in and I hope you enjoy your visit .
I have a swap card from a friend Ally to share with you today , so before I post my card , here it is .
I love the arrangement of image and swirls , oops sorry I just noticed that  the bow turned around a bit and has covered Happy Birthday sentiment on the tag . Thanks Ally for bundle of extras included .
Today I had a spell from workshop cards and decided to create what I think is a pretty card .

Using Pink Pirouette card stock for card base and top layer and
centre tag , pink ribbon, brads  and flower I decided to add a little colour with blue bird  from set, Asian Artistry.
The embossing was created with Big Shot and textured Impressions folder.

I then carried on the theme in pink for the inside of  the card.

Really happy with my break from workshop cards today . Hope that you like this card too.
Catch you again  soon , cheers Shirley-Anne .

Thank You

Hello everyone. Welcome to my room . Hope  you have had a pleasant day.  The sun was a no show today in Adealaide again  and it is going to be a very cold night. Roll on warmer Spring weather.
Still good crafting times though.
So to todays card . This one is taken from an example in our new catalogue .

I really thought that this was a clever way to showcase a whole stamp set . Thank You Kindly was the set .I have used Sahara Sand, Soft Suede and  Baja Breeze ink.
The leaves  from set Pocket Silhouettes.
Just a tip ..I used the 1/4" circle punch to make a half circle to sit the ribbon over

I have used this before in thicker ribbon as it does make it easier / flatter when folding ribbon over and adhering the panel onto card front.

In this case I have used white taffeta ribbon and I like the way it seems a neater finish for me.
I made a separate bow and fixed onto ribbon strip.
Using the Stamp-a-ma-jig to line up the sentiments was a necessity.
Hope you enjoyed your visit tonight and the card . Thank you for calling in .
Catch you again soon , cheers Shirley-Anne
