Baby wipes .

Good evening every one. Hope that it has been a great day for you . We enjoyed some sunshine in Adelaide today . Short lived though it may be as rough weather  for next few days is the forecast.
Today though it was just great to see the sun .
For todays card I tried a new technique . With White Gloss card ,baby wipes and 3 reinkers .
Proper things first . Acknowledgement to http://stamptv.ning.com/video/baby-wipes-background and to Jane who sent me the link .
I have stamped onto gloss  card before using crayon  resist technique but generally don't use it a lot .
I will however be trying this again in different colours and I am here to tell you that it is dead easy .

I'll try to be brief as I show you how I achieved my creation . And after you can check out the tutorial on the link I showed you earlier . Firstly I folded a baby wipe

Now on the fold of the small pad created I used 3 ink refills , namely Mellow Moss, Sage Shadow and Certainly Celery, to place ink  dots along the edge. I got 6 dots .

Swipe the pad over card one way the turn card around , reink and swipe again .
And the result is a fantastic background . My pictures don't do it justice though . In this instance I have used Handsome Hunter inked images from Gumnut Brush , Helen Williams and Father from Lucy's Stamps.
Hope you found this interesting . Maybe you would  prefer to use small piece of cardstock to practice first .
Just a tip . Ink takes a while to dry on gloss card so make sure background is dry before stamping images .

Catch you again soon , cheers Shirley-Anne.

Sad news means no cards tonight

Hello everyone , sorry I can't stay . But you feel free to browse over my blog as I am sure there will be something that will be worth your visit . Hope that you are all well and happy .
I had two lots of bad news today . Michelle can't come after all as one of our grandsons is ill. Her brother who lives in Roxby Downs [ like the other end of the country ]  won't be calling in either now and he has some flu like problem .
So I am busy trying to make up a parcel to send to Michelle for the boys as a consolation treat .
I'll be back tomorrow .
Catch you soon  cheers Shirley-Anne

Bagging a bargain

Hello to you and you and of course you . Welcome to my room . Hope that you have had just the best day!
I bet Sandy and Jane will have wrist ache tonight from all the punching done today . We had a wonderful time punching shapes and embossing and diecutting .
Now I am warning you this is a long post with a few photos as I really wanted  to share my great day .
And also I wanted to thank Sandy and Jane too.
It all began with a very neatly set out table ....

with stacks of paper and card scraps and empty containers..

with punches , Big Shot  AND Cuttlebug at the ready ..
Jane pictured here with punches and containers at the ready. Notice the refreshment Jane bought with her ?

Here is Sandy handling the diecut Alphabet ready for bagging .
These are photos of some of the items we made .

Later this evening I bagged up a few .
I have put 36 smaller shapes  in one bag for $1.00. There are 6 Top Notes bagged  and 6 envelopes bagged  for $1.00.  Now we did not even make a dent in my scrap stash so Fran and Sandy will come to do it all again tomorrow. My Wonderful  Hubby, Doug , said that it was silly to pack all away so he said to leave it on the table as long as he had just enough room for his tablemat  for dinner . That was quickly arranged . So I'm ready for another fun afternoon .
Thank you staying  to the end of the posting . Hope you enjoyed it .
Catch you again soon , cheers Shirley-Anne.

Star Bright

Hello and welcome . Hope that you have had a wonderful day .
Not long now , only 4 more sleeps till Michelle and Luke are here .
Today I have added a Christmas card to my numbers in Robyn's challenge to make 50 by the 1st December.
Here I have used embossing on Whisper White layer then cut aperture with Nestabilities, adding red gingham ribbon and bow  before adhering to Real Red card base. I used a Sizzix ' Corner Design' and my Big Shot to create a swirl for confetti stars , adding some glitter to it as well. I also cut a nestabilities centre piece in red dsp adding a punched white circle for the sentiment from set Short and Sweet, inked in Real Red.
I reckon I have had those Star confetti pieces for 8 or so YEARS ! I never throw any thing away.

Tomorrow I am taking the cue from a girl friend of mine , Kay, who did this a couple of days ago . My craft ladies and I will put all my scrap card a dsp pieces on the table with the Big Shot and all my punches . And for 2 1/2 hours we will punch , emboss and  diecut as much as we can to make up  many bags of card toppers . Some of these we will share and some  I will  give to Michelle and others will go to the Church trading table  on Tuesday.
Hope that you all have a quiet family Sunday tomorrow
Catch you again soon , cheers Shirley-Anne

Black and Vanilla

Hi there everyone . The weekend is near. And , what have we scheduled? Well lucky us,  every day is a  weekend . So it's out for coffee,  a bit of shopping ,home for lunch , then a lick and a promise of housework
and into my craft room. AWESOME!  Hope that your weekend is a happy one .
Good luck with your stall tomorrow , Michelle .    5 days to go...YIPPEE.
Todays card is for a friend who is feeling a bit low because  in a few days time it will be the 1st anniversary of her Husband's passing . Now it is visually  sombre because I know she will be in a pensive mood . you will see what I mean ..
Card base and topnote is of Very Vanilla with Basic Black as a mat. The sentiment and flowers are from set Upsy Daisy inked in Basic Black. The little highlight is the red gingham ribbon next to the black gingham ribbon . And as a softener I added some pearls in the corners
I did not think that a bright sunny flowery card was the go at this time . But by the same token , I don't think that this card is morbid either.
 Hope that I was right!
Catch you again soon , cheers for now Shirley-Anne

ATCs

Hello there and welcome. Hope that your day has been full of good things .  .
Firstly , I must thank Lisa Jane for the blog award . It is on my side bar and just click on picture and it will take you to her blog . Lisa is an artist extraordinare.

Lost my mojo for card creating today so I tried some mini works of art . I have not joined in an ATC swap for a while . And now that I think about it I have not seen any ATCs  on blogs  that I visit for a long time .
ATC stands for Artist Trading Cards . These are 2.5" x 3.5" cards. They can be journalling cards, and/or swap cards.
Here are the three I made today . These are pre cut cards by Urban Lily.

I love these little gems as you can use up a lot of your small  left over bits to add to the stamped image or sentiment . Like here , I have used just the smallest bit of lace on one and  the little friend button was the last on the sheet .
Now what to do with them ??
I'll find 3 fellow bloggers  to send them to and hopefully they will send a swap.
Will it be you ..or you ?
Watch this space !
Catch you again soon , cheers Shirley-Anne

fabulous friend

Hello and welcome . Hope that you are enjoying your day. Wet and cold here so great time for crafting .
Earlier today with posting as too wet to do anything else really.
Todays card is, as is always my prefered style, quick and simple .
Card base is Pacific Point with layers of Baja Breeze and Certainly Celery with a panel of SU dsp .
One image is from a new soon to be released set and the sentiment is from set , Oval all.
Ink used was Orchid Opulence. SU oval punch used on sentiment tag and I have sponged the edges in same ink . I was not sure how the colour combination would work and was surprised to be quite happy with the result . Although, having said that, I was thinking that the two green strips could have been narrower.
Would you agree?
I'll leave you to ponder that .
Catch you again soon , cheers for now , Shirley-Anne.

Joy at Christmas

Hello and welcome to my room . Have you had a pleasant day , a good start to the week ? Hope so .
Seven days to go ....and Michelle and Luke will be here , freezing right through to the bone after leaving Queensland's hot and humid weather .
Tonight I have made these two Christmas cards to add to my collection of 50 cards by 1st December . Have you checked out Robyn's and Sue's Christmas cards yet . Their links are on my side bar. They are sharing some beautiful Christmas cards .
Here are my two more.
Both are made with retiring SU dsp.the sentiment is from new set Perfect Punches.inks used are Pacific Point and Real Red.Scallop Circle and 1 3/8" circle punches .
These  will be for next Tuesday's workshop as I know the ladies will  love being able to mix and match the colours on the centre of the sentiment and the scallop edge.
Well I  have some blogs to browse now so will say good night .

Vintage friend

Hello once more and welcome . Hope you have had a great day .
Another cold day in Adelaide , another good day for crafting .
Have a new craft friend who has sent me some beautiful creations as swaps . Hi there Ally .
Tonight I share with you her latest' vintage ' swap. It is adorable . There has been some clever use of the negatives of punched scallop circles here . I did fluff up the flowers that got squashed a bit through posting but I love the lace bow with pin. And that image is so cute .
Ally has raised the bar for me as I struggle with styled or vintage cards , but here  is my effort .
Actually , I love it . My second one of this kind in a matter of days !
All made from clutter on my desk and my stash of bits  , I might add.
Anyway short and sweet with posting tonight , am late with my commenting on blogs I love to visit so
catch you again soon , cheers for now Shirley-Anne

All about YOU

Hello there and welcome to my room . Hope that you have had a great weekend . Have you a busy week ahead?
I enjoyed the company of three beautiful souls this afternoon . We chatted and laughed,  had a cuppa and some how managed to make 3 cards. Thank you ladies.
This card shared today is for Tuesday workshop . it is a copy of one I needed to make for a bloke who is on the sick list and who is a ute lover tradie. It is also featured in the new catalogue.
Oh..., before  I show you , just a thought about the comment candy I am giving away .
If you do not have a blog , you can still enter because you can leave a comment as Anonymous as long as you tell your friends about my blog . Honesty system there. If you keep checking my blog you will see if you have been chosen and will need to email me with your details so that I can send candy to you .
And now to card
Card base is Ruby Red while the striped panel is DSP Sweet Slumber Specialty.
Whisper White has the image from set , Loads of Love, stamped in Soft Suede and coloured
with Taken With Teal ink, Soft Suede  and blender pen.
The flowers from same set coloured with markers.
The sentiment from the set, inked in Soft Suede, on So Safron is punched with SU 1 3/4 " circle punch.
I used the Horizontal Slot punch on the circle for the ribbon tie.
I finished image with some small  faux cross stitches in corners.
Hope you like my card today .
see you again soon , cheers Shirley-anne

Snowman

Hi there and welcome to my room . Hope that you are having a great day , that your weekend is full of family fun times . I forgot in earlier posting to add a Christmas card to my tally so I thought that while I was going there to adjust my numbers I would add another . Todays is a little more whimsical I think . certainly not an   Australian scene, but a fun card never the less.
Naturals Ivory is the card base with a layer of Real Red before some DSP and more Natural Ivory with images from set , Punch Pals. Markers were used to colour. I have torn and distressed edges of some layers. I added light blue pearls of various sizes to bottom . Oval punch used for sentiment.
This will bring my number up to 29 for the Christmas card challenge begun by Robyn . Check my side bar for  Sue 's and her tally as well .
Thanks for calling in .
Catch you again soon , cheers for now Shirley-Anne

Just a Merry Christmas

Just wanted to share this card first . It 's another example using up dsp scraps and the Top Note diecut.

Hello again . I hope that you have had a great day . Our weekend  forecast is for wet and windy conditions so not much planned for us . Gosh I am missing our gopher walks . We are lucky to have several walking trails and parks  near by so Doug and I can generally walk , I walk he gophers, for 6 to 8 ks every day in one direction or another and never get sick of the scenery. Still warmer weather will be here soon enough I guess.
Just a simple card from me again . A Christmas card . I love this embossing folder as it makes a great background. I have used a new SU set . Contempo Christmas . Cant wait to get the punch that will suit this image I have used
Whisper White cs is used throughout. Garden Green , Real Red, and Brilliant Blue inks were  used for the baubles and sentiment . These are great Christmas colours . I have stamped the baubles twice each and 3D each to give dimension to  the card. I stamped the sentiment befor embossing background  layer. That will another to add to my collection
Well I hope that the rest of your  night is just as you would like it . ENJOY.
Catch you again real soon , cheers for now Shirley-Anne.

Just for you

Brrrrr..Cold again in Adelaide! Hope that you are a lot warmer, where ever you are . Hi there and welcome .
14 days till Michelle and Luke are here ..YIPPEE.
This morning I was browsing through our new catalogue and saw a  card that one of my class really liked so I have made my version with a kit for it so that the class can  make it on Sunday .
The card base is from Certainly Celery. The bottom panel is from Old Olive , with 5/8th striped grosgrain ribbon , some Hemp Twine and  a piece of Naturals Ivory with a scallop edge .
The double row of circles from the named greens have been made with Circle Punches 1 3/8th" and 1 1/4"
Just for you sentiment from set ' Teeny Tiny Sentiments' stamped in Soft Suede onto Curly Label punched tag of more Naturals Ivory.  And the flowers are from Cottage Garden and Vintage Vogue. Inks used on flowers were Baja Breeze, Summer Sun ,  Kiwi Kiss and Creamy Caramel. I added Rhinestones to the flower centres.
I liked the combination of embellishments on this one . Hope you think this card worthy to share .
Thanks for your company , see you again soon I hope .
Cheers for now Shirley-Anne.

Happy 70th

Hello again . Hope you have had a great day . Thank you for popping in to see me .
Just a quick, quick card tonight . I had a full on morning of card making then house work this afternoon so I am in for an early night I think . Must be getting old .

The gentleman I made this card for loves the race horses so as this is the only horse image I have it has been quite a challenge . I love my Big Shot and all the embossing folders I have as they do make it a bit easier  . My tip for the day would have to be when you buy these folders and or cutting dies it's a good idea to record what they are called . Generally there are no names on them so once packaging is thrown away then it is easy to forget what they are.
Any way sorry for short posting . Wednesday is another day and  I have lots of kits to make . Hope you all get some crafting done tonight and I will catch you again soon
           Cheers for now Shirley-anne

Wishes

Hi there and welcome once more . I am soo over this cold weather , roll on Summer!  Mind you , in Winter it is easier to justfy staying in to craft the hours away. Isn't it?
I have indeed been indoors most of the day creating these two cards which I am thrilled with . I have 4 male Birthdays for September so I thought that I had better make a start .

This first one was created using Top Note die cut with Big Shot , ! 1/4" square Punch ,  Curly label punch , a selection of dsp , some scrap SU ribbon and SU card stock. Sentiment from SU set Short &Sweet. I thought that I may have overdone the sponging on the edges a bit . What do you think?

Once again I have used the Big Shot with dry embossing folders for the two layers[ stripes and dots]  and the curly label Punch for the sentiment from set , Sincere Salutations , while the bird image, which has been paper pieced,  is from set, Friends 24-7.
For another embellishment I added a feather from my stash .
Well I hope that you have found these cards interesting today . Wishing you just the best kind of day and thanks again for calling in . I'd be thrilled to hear from you .
Catch you again soon , cheers Shirley-Anne

Sandy's entry to my Journal

Hello you all. Welcome to my room . Hope that your day was a pleasant one and that you are all set for another  great week . Don't forget , I really appreciate you taking the time to leave a comment . I like to see hints and tips as well as constructive criticism you know!
Now that's a thought ...I might see if I can make up a collection of  candy for comments .mmm watch this space . Now onto todays posting .
Sandy is another of my craft friends who join me twice a week for card making .
Today,  Sandy bought me her pages for my journal.

Thank you so much Sandy . I love your journaling . I am so pleased that you enjoy our Tuesdays and Sundays together . And you are right.  This is the stuff happy memories are made of.
I love the way you have sponged colour onto the scallop circle framing your photo and also around your journalling panels .
I am so glad that I began this circle journal . Not too late at 64 years of age !
Hope you have been keeping track of my Journal and found this entry interesting .
Catch you again soon , cheers Shirley-anne

You're on my mind.

Hello there and welcome to my room . Hope the beginning of the weekend was good for you.
Remember yesterday,  I said that Doug wanted to go somewhere else for our morning coffee?
Well we did! We went to a place in Burnside , here in Adelaide , that has been advertising of late on the radio. First time ...last time .  We were placing our order of 2 mugs flat white, one serve toast and one serve of fruit loaf and the woman was chatting to someone else,  and all the while loudly   ' darling 'this and 'lovey ' that to my Doug whom she does not know. That in itself was a turnoff for us. But when we got our order , coffee was luke warm,  there were two serves of fruit loaf and they were cold. The butter was served in a lump in a dish with the jam... So back to our usual haunt I  think tomorrow morning .
ANY WAY ..sorry about the griping .
Todays card is a swap . An  aperture was the requirement this time

Everything used in this card is from SU . I created the aperture in card front using a die cut and Big Shot,  then I used a Chocolate Chip marker  around the edge to create a frame . I used Crystal effects on that to add dimension and 3D effect.
On the inside , behind the aperture , I used the card  piece that was cut out , covered it with DSP , added a flower and brad.

I placed it behind  aperture so that the flower was slightly raised when card closed .
I liked the look of the framed aperture but next time I might try putting dsp on front first to soften the  look.
I love that crystal effects as the clear laquer just stayed where I squeezed it around the edge of frame .
The sentiment I thought , was fairly plain or blunt which suited the style of this card.
I hope that you have had a great day and that you can call in again soon
until then , cheers for now Shirley-Anne

Pages from Kay

hello , welcome . Is it the end of your working week ? Are you planning any thing you can share with us for the weekend ? Doug has decided that he wants to go somewhere new for coffee in the morning . It is going to be windy and raining according to the forecast, so I hope that it is not too far!
Then again he has said that he will take me to a couple of craft shops that I have been wanting to visit for a while . So looking forward to that.  But to tonight's post.
Tonight I would like to share with you a gift from my friend Kay .

This is  Kay's first page for my Journal. I love Tote-ally Tess because she is so versatile and can convey almost any sentiment. Love the background paper and the bling which I am sorry has not shown up under the flower.

This is a better showing of her 2nd page , with Friend spelt in bling. Love the journal tags and the spray of flowers in the corner.
Did I say this was a gift from Kay ?  Tis a precious gift,  is time . These days we must pack a lot of living into our day.  Most of  our time is taken up with the mundane duties of life . So when someone uses some of their precious time to " make/ create " something for me then they had better believe that I will treasure that which they have done for me .  Thanks Kay.
Hope that you like her pages . I still have 2 entries to show but that is for another day.
Thank you for calling in and  catch you again soon .
Cheers Shirley-Anne

Cheers

Good afternoon every-one . Hope that you are enjoying your day. Thank you for visiting .
Todays card is another in which it was easy to use up some of my cardstock stash. No recipe today as I am so far behind  housework that I am in jeopardy of losing title of Mrs Perfect if I don't make an appearance with  washing pegs in my mouth and a duster in one hand and a cookbook in the other .
So with out further ado here is the card , one for Tuesday's workshop.

Glitter was used for sparkly wine in glasses
Hope you like it . Thanks again for popping in .
Tomorrow I hope to show another page for my craft Circle Journal.
It was hand delivered today from my friend Kay .
Catch you again then , cheers Shirley-Anne

21 days and counting!

Hi there . Only 21 days to go before our Daughter is here for a few days . Not that we are counting of course ...NOT! Hope that you are all enjoying your day .
Spare a thought for Sue,  and family , from  http://a-consuming-passion.blogspot.com/  , whose Husband is need of lots of TLC. He has injured himself while at home. Speedy recovery Ian .
I want to share with you today a photo of some of the ladies who share craft time together with me . There are a couple more who were somewhere else when photo taken . Thank you ladies for your company and for being so patient with me when I have senior moments .
Todays card is created from various SU card stock .
It is a top fold card and I have used markers and a blender pen , trying to create a soft watercolour effect . Not quite sure that this was achieved but I guess it takes practice . The flower is from the set , Asian Artistry and the little tag and word is from set , Tiny Tags and was punched with SU medium jewelery tag punch.
After I had finished card I looked at it for a while and felt that it was just not quite finished so I added two embossed lines at bottom of card  front and was happy with the result.
Hope that you enjoyed your visit here today . I appreciate any comments left and will always return the visit .
See you again soon , cheers for now , Shirley-Anne

Hint for today

Hello , welcome to my room . Hope that you manage to spend some time crafting today .
I have been packing craft bag for tomorrow's card morning . And creating a card using a hint , Fran passed onto me . Thank you Fran .
The rubber on which your stamp sets are  sent , weather or not  images  are pre cut or you have to cut out is recyclable! Did you know this?

This is the rubber with backing still in place and images removed . I left this backing on while I cut odd shapes from it . Then I removed the backing and placed shapes randomly over a spare clear block I had ...thanks again Fran.

I am sure with practice I could make a better background even a multi coloured one . In the meantime I used this block to create this background for this card.
See how one of the shapes I cut makes a perfect frame for the  sentiment. I stamped ' mosaic', I guess it could be called,  in Pumpkin Pie on Whisper White. This is layered then on Chocolate Chip card stock, and all then onto card base of Creamy Caramel.
Bird on branch is from set Friends 24/7
Hope that you find this hint useful .
Thank you again for popping in .
Catch you again soon , cheers Shirley-Anne

Friends

Hello , thank you for calling in . Hope that you find my blog interesting . And in particular my today's creation . I have been using some of the new SU papers and stamps today .

The paper is from Greenhouse Gala DSP. The stamp used from set Friends Never Fade.
Certainly Celery was used for card base . Chocolate Chip , Pacific Point and Whisper White also used . Baja Breeze inked tag. Old Olive ribbon as well as flowers from my stash . Am quite happy with the result.
I missed my ladies today as I did not have craft afternoon  but I did spend quality time with Doug . We went for a drive ending up on the other side of town for lunch . Indeed a very pleasant day .
Hope that the week ahead is a special one for you,  and you,  and you as well. Thanks again for popping in , I really appreciate your company.
Catch you again soon , cheers Shirley-Anne

Baby Tees

Hello and welcome . How was your Saturday ? Full of good things I hope .
I have been busy trying to prepare my storage drawers for new  colours in cardstock coming through Stampin'Up as of 1st September.
But I did manage to make a couple of cards with new Stampin'around wheel and stamp set , Baby Bundle

This one for a boy . I left or used the wheel image  in its whole form , only colouring a little of some of the Tees. Cutting out 3 of the little ducks from the Baby Bundle set. I adhered them on the left top of centre panel. The greeting is from set Short & Sweet.
In this card for baby girl I actually stamped the whole wheel image but  cut out the two Tees without hanger top . I adhered one over green strip then 3D the other near . This time I chose the teddy from the set Baby Bundle  and the greeting is from set, Teeny Tiny Sentiments.
Thank you for calling in and browsing . Let me know that you were here by leaving a comment and I will visit you too. So hoping to catch up with you soon .
Cheers for now,  Shirley-anne

Swaps with Ally

Hello everyone , welcome . Hope that you are either' warm as toast' or 'cool as a cucumber' which ever suits your enviroment . Very cool weather here in Adelaide.
Today I  created a card for a swap with Ally . The theme for our swap was " Trees"
Firstly this is the swap from Ally . It is on white card and has a layer of acetate over front. Ally has used Stazon to ink tree image on to acetate and has stamped other trees onto front of card. This has created an amazing scene.

My card for her is from SU cardstock, the bird on branch from set Asian Artistry. And I have used 1 3/4 " circle punch.

The Tree is from the set I won recently . Branch Out by annabelle stamps. I sponged white around apeture and at base of tree just as a highlight. I think type of card is called a tri fold .
Hope you like them . Completely different aren't they?
Thank you for calling in , catch you again soon ..   cheers Shirley-Anne

Thinking of You and Best Wishes

Hello and welcome . Are you enjoying your day? I hope so. Thank you for calling in .
Was too late to share these quick cards last night so here we are .
Created from SU products these cards I think would be classed as easy to make . I have a couple of newbies at my table on Tuesday so have to be sensitive to their capabilities , at least till I get to know their level of skills .
With this first card I can introduce SU double sided papers , paperpiecing , using the Stamp-a-ma-jig and the oval punch . Using such beautiful paper can sometimes negate the need for embellishments apart from some rhinestones here and there . You think?

Here again using a punch and the stamp-a-ma-jig  will be the focus .Sponging around circle with Whisper White , I think softens the circle as does the dsp behind. This is a trifold card . Tote-ally Tess is a delightful image as she can be so versatile,  accompaning many sentiments . And although there is no background paper on card front I purposely omited embellishments other than rhinestones .

Hope that you like these cards today
Catch you again soon , cheers Shirley-Anne

Hello , welcome again to my room and my blog . Hope that you have had a great Monday . Todays card has been created with a set of newly released clear stamps .  On the link below

And to say thank you I have this card to share with annabelle stamps .

I used Certainly Celery and Bashful Blue cardstock.
Dsp from stash , I think it is from webster's pages.
Inks were Rose Red, Garden Green and Pumpkin Pie.
Stamps ...you guessed it Branch Out from annabelle stamps.

Hope you think it worthy to show then in appreciation for the freebie.
Thanks for popping in to see me ,
 catch you soon Shirley-Anne
