Using stashed stuff.

Well , hello,  hope that you have had a pleasant day .
I pottered around my room today and found several
packaging boxes from SU to throw out .
One thing with SU they pack stock for freighting
really well.  I hate throwing their boxes away ,
But,  realisticly I can't keep them all, and that's
hard because I am such a "reuser".
These cards on show tonight are for Sunday workshop kits .
This first card is another version of a card, Dotty Circles,  in the last post . Same recipe but I left a small border around the first layer of dsp.  Like it so much more . What do you think?

Now , as there are going to be quite a few
changes in products for SU in September ,
I thought that I should be using up my huge stash
of Simply scrappin' scrapbooking kits . So this next card is almost all created from the kit , Petal Party.
The ric rac is from Ribbon Originals. The greeting inked in Old Olive , is from set ,
Sweet Little Sentiments.

This last card is demonstrating
 two step stamping .
It is a very understated card.
Using White Gloss I began with a square [15cm] card.
With a variety of SU markers I have coloured image
from set , Live Like You Mean it. and cut out.
The little greeting is from set , Occasional Greetings.
And the ribbon is from SU stash. Have added little
black Rhinestones to flower centres.

Hope that you have enjoyed your visit here tonight.
I know that I love sharing some time with you here.
I also enjoy browsing your blogs and quite happily
leave comments .One day when time permtis me
I would really like to enter more challenges as I think they move you out of your comfort zone . .
dare you to try something new .

On that note , I will say good night . Stay safe , be happy .
               Cheers Shirley-Anne

Dotty Circles

Hello and welcome .  Hope that you have enjoyed your Monday /day if it's not Monday where you are . Just a very quick post tonight as I need some beauty sleep,[ he he he  lots of laughing ]               Seriously I have a big morning as it is the last day of our term at my workshops and I have 2 weeks off . Tuesdays any way , will still have Sundays .       Tomorrow we plan to have tea and scones [  made by Sandy ] for our breakup treat.              Inspired by a design by Sharon Reinhart   but making a few changes but more using her layout           Tempting Turquoise , Whisper White and Double Sided Paper from pk. Close to Cocoa , all SU.     Greeting from Teeny Tiny Sentiments , Circles and flowers from Seeing Spots and Circle Circus , all inked with Chocolate Chip marker, SU. I meant to leave a small border when adhering DSP to the card base ,  but had a senior moment and covered front completely . Still I like the result well enough. Hope you do too.
Catch you tomorrow night , all being well.
Cheers Shirley-Anne

Tidy room or post..??

Yeah , right.... easy choice to make !
So here I am , putting it off for another time.  Oh me,  oh my . I can just see me making a last minute dash at the end of July. See where Michelle said not to worry too much because she wont take up/ need  a lot of room . That's  the  sort of polite , kind and respectful Daughter she is . So now ..I REALLY NEED A TIDY ROOM!  May be I will take a before and after photo . Watch this space.

If you have stayed , hello and welcome .
Last night in previous post I showed the first , a Christmas card .
Today am showing the other two cards for workshop on Tuesday .
I began with Brocade Blue card as base . On a layer of Whisper White I added panels , leaving small borders .
Paper is from SU Patterns Pack ll .
Using SU punches I made tag of scallop circle
1 3/8" circle ,  a 1 1/4" circle with hello greeting from set SU Hello Again. The butterfly is from SU All A Flutter. Ink used is Baja Breeze.
I adhered only the body of the butterfly and left the wings up slightly .
And for the last card..

I created this male card.   mmm, that did not sound right. Ok , a card for a male.

Earthy tones and Autumn colours are , I find, quite a pleasure to use and easier to combine . So I am  very happy with this card.

This card base is from Real Rust, with back  ground '  Sanded' stamped in Creamy Caramel. Father's Day greeting inked in Chocolate Chip onto Whisper White card , layered onto Chocolate Chip card with faux stitching on edge . Basful Blue and More Mustard made up the other tags, which I joined with brad then fanned out to layer onto card front . Attatched to brad I made smaller tag with image from set 'Be Happy', inked in Chocolate Chip onto Whisper White.
Hope that you , where ever you are , will be enjoying the day.
Cheers Shirley-Anne

'tis the Season

Hi  there . Hope that you are set to have a great weekend .
I rushed to get my Sunday kits ready then my Tuesdays because if Michelle is coming in September I need , ..like ...REALLY need to get my craft room in order . And that means more than just  a tidy desk .
I have this bad habit of going on a card making bender  and because I have a room where I can finish for the
night and just shut the door , I can end up with a pile of embellishment packets, buttons,  ribbons and a mountain of cardstock /paper .
OH , I am dreading the starting of this , my ultimate challenge .

Err , have I lost you , left you behind ? Sorry.

Here is my latest Christmas card for
Robyn's challenge of 50 Christmas cards before 1st December.

http://rainbowsbyrobyn.blogspot.com/                                           Using Real Red cardstock and DSP from 'I wish' pack as start.               Whisper White card  has words  stamped from  set Season of Joy , coloured  with markers then layered onto Old Olive card.  The Dove from A Wish For Peace inked in Baja Breeze , cut out and placed at top of greeting . All of which was then adhered to front of card.                                                      Quite pleased with the result and adding it will bring my total to 16 now under label , Christmas Wishes .                                                                 Hope you like it . Will post rest of Tuesdays kits tomorrow night . But for now have a good night . Cheers Shirley-Anne

Embossing, using solid image and paper piecing .

Hello , welcome , I hope that you  will enjoy your browsing today.
Funny , one thing that I don't like to do is windowshopping . You know , where you go and look in shops and browse through things that you'd like to have but would never buy  for whatever reason.  I just think that it is a total waste of time .
AND YET! I can browse numerous blogs and admire 100's of creations that I would never be able to try out , for whatever reason , and be having a wonderful time . That's not a waste of time ,more an investment .
Some of my non crafting   friends don't understand that at all. What do you think?

Here are three cards I made yesterday  and last night, ready for Sunday card afternoon .

Love these embossing folders Cuttlebug Provo Craft, which can be used with Big Shot too. But I wish that the company would put names on them so that when you are writing recipes you can tell viewers which one you have used . I think the name is on the packaging and I should record these things but , who keeps packaging  and
I would rather spend that time using the folder!
Any way this one is just a Blue gloss card from stash . Whisper White layer with Bashful Blue embossed . I have cut the embossed piece to lengthen it to fit card, placing a white strip over gap. A shorter strip of the blue is added with  the greeting  from set Occasional Greetings SU , inked in Pacific Blue SU . I added a couple of white brads before adhering to card front

Liked this one , as it is a greeting I use quite a lot . I also like solid stamps . Naturals Ivory, SU,  was used as card base with Rich Razzleberry and Old Olive .
DSP on  strips are  from paper set , Haiku , with Old Olive Ribbon SU.
Image  and greeting from set , Pendant Park, SU inked with Chocolate Chip SU.

White Gloss card from stash used as base for this square card.
A textured Lavender card  used for first layer .
The strip of DSP from Cottage Wall, SU, has been  edged with SU scallop edge punch , SU .
The image from Friends 24-7 was inked in Chocholate Chip and paper pieced in Pacific Blue .
The greeting from Defining Alphabet, SU, is inked in Bravo Burgandy,

All in all very happy with these .

As I said earlier in post , I hope that you have enjoyed the visit , please call in again soon .
Cheers ..Shirley-Anne

Serendipity

Hi.
Hope you  all had a great weekend . Missed you all since my last posting .  I myself have been in a pensive mood ...teeny bit sad really.  Our Daughter , Michelle,  celebrated her 40th birthday on Sunday and I could not give her a hug . My son , Sonny, celebrated a Birthday today and I could not give him a hug either. Thank Heaven for Computer and messenger ! But ...but some good news , Hubby , my FANTASTIC Hubby has paid airfare for Michelle to fly down from Queensland to stay with us for a couple of days in September. HOW GOOD IS THAT !
Ok now I feel better , having shared that with you .
Another boost to my morale came through the post . A new friend Ally has sent me a card which I will class as a swap , meaning I will send her one back.
Ally has created this beautiful beach scene on Cold Laminate.
I had heard about this technique but had never actually seen it . I love it . Thank you Ally.

How friendships can grow through papercraft , how mothers and daughters can share such passion about art in paper . Just   next  time you go to your' list of blogs visited ' see how many visitors they have on their blog , how many you have on yours and thousands of people can't be wrong! Papercrafting makes friends .

Now onto a card I  made yesterday . As you might pick up when you see it I was in a pensive mood and  wandering down memory lane while making this .
The picture from graphic45 sheet reminded me of a place where we once lived .  Koolunga. We had a huge block of fruit trees and vegy patches and chooks and ducks . Doug , the three children and I used to go and pick carrots or corn and oranges and eat right there, in the garden.  Michelle and I used to go to the chook house and collect eggs . That was 35 yeas ago ....sigh.
SORRY , back to card .

I began with Rich Razzleberry cardstock added some dsp from Bella!
The lime frame . the flowers , brads and Bow from my stash.

The greeting from SU set Sweet Serendipity is inked with SU Brocade Blue on Bashful Blue card, SU.  Scallopped Oval Punch, SU . used to make tag.

Hope you like the card
 Wishing you a pleasant evening
Cheers Shirley-Anne

Peek-a Boo

Hello there and welcome to my room.                                  Tonight's posting is short as I only have just one quick card to share. This simple card is the last of three for my Tuesday workshop. The first two are the Christmas cards posted here , last night . Thank you to those who left comments . It is really appreciated when you take the time to leave a comment because that means I get to know where your creations are and I can visit you too.                                                                                     Old  Olive,  Whisper White and Bashful Blue cardstock used .     Ink was Bashful Blue and Pumpkin Pie.                                       Ribbon also SU.     A 1 3/4" circle punch used to create apeture     at the top of front .
And for the inside I placed a piece of Bashful Blue
leaving a small border.

Not showing up well in scanned image are the Bashful Blue sponged edges .  Using the swirl and the flower from the same set , I created the image that would be seen through the apeture .                         That is it for tonight , as I said it is short , sorry .                             Catch you again soon , cheers ...Shirley-Anne

Be of Good Cheer

I have spent some three hours straight  in my room this afternoon on a roll . Only interupted by the mundane duties of life in short bursts. Just love those days .
I have made two more Christmas cards to match Robyn's 15 now. Are you keeping tabs on our progress ? Here are the links to Robyn and  Sue.
Sue.. who has 4 now
http://sue-myinnerreflection.blogspot.com/
Robyn who has 15

I am happy that Robyn has allowed us to use any layout at all.
My first card tonight is from Natural Ivory , with a layer of Real Red , more Natural Ivory and a strip of Real Red and DSP through centre and to the right. All SU.
The greeting, at top , and  snow drop at bottom left and the tree are from set , Snow Swirled SU. Inks used are Real Red and Kiwi Kiss SU. I ran the stampinwheel with Soft holly  in Old Olive  SU over DSP.
I only added a little bling to the tree.

My second card .

This one has Natural Ivory card base as well,  in a top fold card.  Firstly  I stamped script large background stamp , En Francais, in Sahara Sand onto front , leaving a couple of cms at bottom . I created fancy bottom edge with Martha Sterwart punch and added Old Olive ribbon just above it .
Using Lovely Lilac and Very Vanilla cardstock and a small circle punch for the corners  I made the centre piece . The holly is from set Good Cheer SU and inked in Old Olive but coloured with markers .
The greeting inked,  in Old Olive, is from set Teeny Tiny Sentiments . I made two tags using the Word Window punch from SU and attetched them with brads as shown , before adhering the lot with Stampin Dimensials to card front .

Hope you like these as I add them to my stash .
Cheers for now , Shirley-anne

Time Past

Hi there , thank you for calling in .
Another fun workshop today . The ladies did enjoy the baby card  and as I had taken a variety of buttons for them to choose as embellishments each made something " a little different"
My card for them to follow is here  http://shirley-anne-stampingforjoy.blogspot.com/2010/06/wecome-baby.html on Thursday's posting .

But  now onto this card I made this afternoon .

Started with a card base of Very Vanilla And layers of Soft Suede and Natural Ivory all SU .
DSP from Autumn Traditions and image from graphics45 paper were the centre embellishments and the clock stamp from SU set Sense of Time inked in Sahara Sand ,  just enough to finish the card .
I did sponge chalk around some edges .

Hope sharing this card has made it worth your visit .

your day  it is with serenity.

Left overs are good

Hello , hoping that you are keeping warm . Not sure that it will make 15 degrees  here Adelaide today.
Apart from our Daughter's  , there is no other place I would rather be right now , than in my craft room !

Today I have been clearing my desk again , errr still , and made this card with just what I  had near.

Cardstock , Basic Black , Rose Red , Whisper White.
Image  Tags Galore , from  Designs Galore sheet.
I adhered image to Black and created fancy border with a pair of CARL scissors. I ran the scrap Rose Red through Bigshot and embossed it . And the little flowers are the last of a packet.

No stamping! No colouring!.

I like the colour combination of cardstock,  though ,
and those of the tag image just seemed to fit right in .

Hope that you like it too.
  Cheers , Shirley-anne

Just For You

Hello viewers , welcome to my room where it is warm and comfy
tonight as I just finished one more vintage style card .
This one  is a C6 , top fold , black SU card , with Confetti White and Rose Red layers .
The flower from my stash looks shabby chic sort of vintage ....I think. And it really matched the Rose Red  piece.
The Fiskars flower edge punch gave a vintage style feel to the black centre layer, framing the flower nicely.

When I placed the words from  SU set
Teeny Tiny Sentiments,  in the bottom right hand corner It sort of stood out like a sore thumb . So after a bit of thought I opted for a little edge stamp from Stick'em Stamps
Not sure how this photo will show up on blog . If it is not as good as I would like I will edit later .

Well I am off now to check out some blogs and maybe clear my desk ready for another card  and kits for next  Tuesday morning's workshop.
I 'm happy  how  the card turned out  but do you think it is really vintage style ?
I am really interested in what you think .     Cheers Shirley-Anne

sending a smile

Hello everyone. Trusting that you are enjoying your browsing .

Just a quick posting tonight as I need to pack my craft bags for tomorrow morning craft session .

Today I needed to start a collection of vintage cards for a customer .
This style is tougher for me to create as it means more layers or embellishments but... here goes .
Having a selection of images from Le'Romantique Collection of graphic45 helped .
I began with a blue cardstock base topped with DSP from SU layered with a topnote cut  from Whisper White on  which I  stamped  Floral  image SU,  in Baja Breeze ink.
On top of this I 3D  the woman image with a satin blue ribbon bow above. A selection of flower embellishments were arranged on the left and greetings from Expressions stamped in bottom right in Chocolate Chip, SU  .
  And that's it .
Hope you like it .  Cheers for now , Shirley-anne

heartfelt

Another cool day in Adelaide today . I hope that you are enjoying your weekend warmly.
I cannot believe the rough trot that the eastern states are having with  the extreme weather,  still  .  I extend to all those communities that are affected , my warmest thoughts .

My project for tomorrow's card afternoon is two step stamping.
recipe .
           Cardstock, Bashful Blue,  Whisper White
Ink/Markers ,            Ballet Blue , Brilliant Blue , Old Olive
            Stamps,            Heartfelt Thanks
Accessories,      Big Shot . Script embossing folder.
                                       Button  and ribbon. Stamp-a-ma-jig.
I stamped images first  , placed double side tape on back and then embossed  . I find that easier than trying to put tape onto embossed card because sometimes I have flattened the edges of the embossed piece .

Am quite happy with this stamp set to show case two step stamping .
Thank you for popping in to browse  today .
I really appreciate your comments when you leave them .
                                         Cheers for now, Shirley-Anne

Peace , Love and Joy

Ok ...I know this has nothing to do with Christmas . Well ,  may be it does cause,  I  am sharing Joy and I do love my Daughter and her creations .
How's this ?
Michelle from
http://michelle-pinkpaperparadise.blogspot.com/

created this dump truck from scratch with card stock. Unusual gift box wouldn't you agree?

Any way to my Christmas cards .
Still creating quick , clean and simple cards , leaving more elaborate ones for later when new papers and embellishements come out in September.
This one is made from card base of Old Olive , with Whisper White , Old Olive and Real Red for panel. Tree, inked  in Old Olive is from set 'Season Of Joy', while greeting is from set' Many Merry Messages' . DSP  on left is from 'I Wish ' scrapbooking Kit .
I punched small stars with SU punch from Whisper White scraps and adhered to glitter paper , repunched and 3D to greeting panel .

Still using DSP from the 'I Wish'  Kit This DL sized card is from Chocolate Chip card stock .
I used Eyelet Border Punch , SU,  to begin panel , adding Real Red , Old Olive and Whisper White . Church scene is from set  'A Wish For Peace ' and the greeting from  'Many Merry Messages' . all inked in Not Quite Navy.

I coloured in the window with SU marker and dabbed the sky in SU stampin' pastels with a tissue .
Then just along tree edge and around window I again used a tissue with a dab of yellow stampin pastel to create a glow . Now I am going to upload a close up shot   and hope  the 'glow'  shows up .

Mm .. I think I need advise here and more practice . Still I think that you will get the idea . The card was scanned but  for the close up I used my web cam .  These cards will be added to my number made for Robyn's challenge for 50 Christmas Cards for the 1st December .  My count will now be 13 .  Slow going actually . Can't  wait for Stampin'Up 's new products in September . May be there will be some exciting new DSP and stamps that will inspire me to be more creative with the last few Chrismas cards .
Well,  thank you for looking in and I hope that you liked these . I appreciate your comments and love to visit you too.
So enjoy the rest of the week , stay safe and be happy .
Cheers  Shirley-Anne
